2nd Grade Training (Virtual)
Are you a new or active volunteer looking to join our 2nd-grade, Tail Blazers, program? Come to our training!
SitStayRead’s Tail Blazers literacy program for second graders focuses on improving reading fluency as well as building comprehension skills and written expression.
The program runs for six consecutive weeks, with a SitStayRead Program Leader, three Book Buddies, and three Dog Teams visiting the classroom once a week for an hour at a time.
During each visit, Book Buddies lead small-group fluency activities and conduct structured brainstorming sessions. Then, students are supported in independent creative story writing.

Volunteer Holiday Celebration
Join us on Tuesday, December 17th from 5-7pm for an opportunity to celebrate your dedication and hard work over the past year as a volunteer! This celebration aims to foster a sense of community and connection among volunteers and the SSR team in a warm, festive atmosphere. By sharing a meal in our potluck and engaging in a fun White Elephant gift exchange, we hope to create moments of joy! This event also serves as a space to express gratitude for everyone’s contributions and highlight volunteers' significant impact. Open to everyone!
