READ-A-PALOOZA 2024

Join the SitStayRead community in celebrating the return to school with a month-long reading challenge and peer-to-peer fundraiser to support our work across Chicago!

Get LIT while raising funds to support our return to Chicago Public Schools for the first time in over four years, new programming with the Chicago Public Libraries as part of their Jump Into Reading initiative, and the expansion of our bilingual programming with all our school and community partners.

Registration for individuals and teams, including corporate sponsor teams on the Read-A-Palooza 2024 platform is now open.

Between September 9 and October 9, 2024 readers will track their reading-for-pleasure 15 minutes or more each day, or use another metric to track progress. 

Participants are encouraged to invite their networks to support their “read-a-thon” efforts by donating to SitStayRead through personalized peer-to-peer fundraising pages on the Read-A-Palooza 2024 platform.

Non-fundraising registration allows our school partners and students to participate!

All participants are invited to a culminating celebration on Saturday, October 12 from 10 am to noon at Fred Anderson Park and Dog Park in Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood to enjoy breakfast refreshments, prizes, book and dog item giveaways, live entertainment and booths with literacy games.
